Everton has made an offer to capture Manchester City defender Issa Kabore this summer, according to AfricaFoot. According to the news outlet’s website (19 June), the Toffees have launched a permanent approach to recruit the Burkina Faso international following his loan spell at Luton in 2023/24, during which he appeared in 24 Premier League games. The midfielder is open to the transfer since he understands his chances of breaking into the City first team are poor, and Sean Dyche’s side has made a bid of £10.9 million to beat Ajax to his signature and complete the transaction fast.

Everton wants to sign Issa Kabore. On paper, it appears to be a strange transfer for Everton, as right-back is not a position where they lack choices. Seamus Coleman recently signed a new contract, and Ashley Young has stated he is close to doing the same. Nathan Patterson and Ben Godfrey have both played there in the most recent campaign, so they have plenty of choices.

However, Patterson may move on for more regular play following his confrontation with Dyche in Portugal, and Godfrey is nearing the end of his contract and may also leave. Relying on two players who are well past their prime for the entire season would be a major risk, which makes the Kabore move much more logical, so it’s definitely worth watching. The club is looking for younger players with sell-on value, and Kabore meets that requirement, therefore the Blues could be ready to add a new right-back to their team.
