Leicester City may be obliged to sell Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall if a bid of £30 million is made for him this summer, according to Football Insider sources. On the most recent episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior writer Pete O’Rourke stated both Brighton and Brentford were interested in signing Dewsbury-Hall during the January transfer window.
The English midfielder was important in securing his team’s rapid return to the Premier League after winning the Championship. However, O’Rourke indicated that Leicester could be forced to sell him this summer after declaring a £90 million loss in their most recent financials. Dewsbury-Hall’s contract at the King Power Stadium runs until 2027.
Brighton might sign Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall following Leicester PSR concerns. The Nottingham-born midfielder has been with Leicester for the past 18 years, joining their academy in 2006 and moving to the main squad. Dewsbury-Hall has made 129 appearances since his debut in January 2020, scoring 17 goals and assisting 20 times. The Englishman had by far his greatest season last season, scoring 12 goals and providing 14 assists while starting 43 games in Leicester’s title victory. According to O’Rourke, Dewsbury-Hall is the club’s most valuable asset, and if he becomes available for transfer, several clubs will compete to sign him.
That is a distinct possibility, according to Football Insider, who disclosed on June 12 that Leicester may lose many stars this summer as they seek to balance the books. The Premier League club is already facing a points deduction next season after being charged in March for violating the league’s profit and sustainability guidelines (PSR).
