Leicester City are apparently interested in a Juventus teenager with a €40 million price tag. Leicester City finished with an astounding 97 points last season, winning the Championship, but they won’t simply be seeking to escape relegation next season in the Premier League. The Foxes are currently without a manager after Enzo Maresca took over at Chelsea, but that hasn’t stopped them from participating in the transfer market following their promotion from the Championship. Veteran Jamie Vardy has already signed a new contract that would keep him at the club for the 2024/25 season, as well as the option to sign winger Issahaku Fatawu from Sporting Lisbon.
Leicester City are now interested in signing a young Juventus and Argentinian right-winger who has dominated Serie A this season. Leicester City are interested in Matias Soule at Juventus. The 21-year-old was loaned to Italian club Frosinone, where he was unfortunately relegated. Despite this, the Argentinian scored 11 goals and provided three assists. Soule has primarily played on the right wing, cutting in with his preferred left foot, though he did play centrally in the latter stages of the season. According to Tuttosport, Leicester have met with the players’ representation. They have also stated that Juve may be willing to let him leave to free up transfer cash, with a rumored asking price of €40 million (£33.75 million).
Soule’s outstanding performances and finishing as Frosinone’s top scorer have aroused the curiosity of Premier League clubs West Ham and Crystal Palace, with the Foxes potentially having to compete for his signature. Would Matias Soule make a decent signing for Leicester City? With most players, one complete season of first-team football is not enough to determine whether they are worth a high asking price, but Soule at that price could be a gift. Any player who scores in double digits in Serie A definitely have the talent to make an impact for a newly promoted side to the Premier League, but the fact that he is only 21 years old suggests that he has the potential to become spectacular.
Soule can do it all, from making plays to running at the defense. He possesses the pace to pose severe problems for defenders at any level. Leicester might also benefit from some competition to continue getting the most out of winger Fatawu, who scored 19 goals for the Foxes last season. Leicester will face a difficult battle in attracting Soule, with several teams interested in the youngster and FFP rules hovering over the Foxes. However, his abilities and high ceiling should put him at the top of the priority list for signings.
The main candidate for the Leicester City manager position has already received approval from Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola. The five-time Premier League winner knew outgoing Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca well, since the Argentine was his assistant before taking over as manager. Maresca, who led Leicester to the Championship title, has now gone to take over Mauricio Pochettino’s post at Chelsea, leaving Leicester without a manager ahead of their return to the top flight. Names like Carlos Corberan, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and even Mauricio Sarri have all been connected with the Leicester position, but it appears that the club has reduced their search to two main possibilities.
Out-of-work duo Steve Cooper and Graham Potter are claimed to be the two managers dominating the race, with Potter having the slight advantage.
