Despite “strange” rumors of delays, Leicester City’s points deduction issue should be resolved before the start of the season. That is according to finance expert Stefan Borson, who exclusively told Football Insider that it is “surprising” that the points deduction hearing has not yet begun. Leicester was punished with violating Profit and Sustainability Rules in March after reporting losses of £89.7 million in 2022-23.

The Foxes now risk a significant points deduction for the 2024-25 season after securing their return to the Premier League. According to the Daily Mail, Leicester’s dispute might drag on past the start of next season. Borson feels that the precedent set by Everton and Nottingham Forest’s case last season will help to hasten the process, allowing it to be completed before the start of the new season.

Leicester City’s points deduction delay is “surprising” “This is strange,” Borson told Football Insider. “I think it’s unlikely that this will go too far beyond the start of the season.”We are only in June, yet this has been a live issue since March. “It’s shocking they haven’t had the hearing yet. “They must have established a timeline for it to be heard before the start of the season.

“The decision should be made quickly as well, because we’re now in a scenario where many of the concerns we had last season about PSR were because to a lack of a structure and matrix of discipline. “Now that we’ve got the cases that have been processed last season, it should be much easier to assess.”
