Wilfred Ndidi is still debating whether to accept Leicester City’s offer to renew his contract, as he wants to see if something better comes along. According to Sport, Barcelona could still be a viable alternative for the midfielder if his contract with Leicester is not renewed. The 27-year-old’s contract expires at the end of this month, and he has yet to agree to an extension with the Foxes. Reports in England indicated earlier this week that a new contract had been offered, but he has yet to sign it, which could be because he is waiting to see what other offers are on the table.

Barcelona may be interested in acquiring a new defensive midfielder due to their limited financial resources. Ndidi was offered to them months ago, and director of football Deco admires the Leicester midfielder for the muscular presence he could bring to Barcelona’s midfield. He has previously played at a high level in the Premier League and played an important role in their return this season. He’d like to join a club like Barcelona, but he understands he has to wait until the end of June when they make their move. It is possible that he will postpone any new agreements with Leicester for the time being.

Sport clearly believes he is doing so, with Leicester reportedly making a major renewal offer that he has yet to respond to. They say he’d like to focus on international duty with Nigeria for the time being and then figure something out before the summer holidays, possibly stalling in the hopes that Barcelona will move forward.
