After much consideration, Leicester City’s future manager has finally been revealed.

According to Football Insider, Graham Potter and Steve Cooper are the main candidates for the vacant management position at Leicester City. The Foxes are thought to have been unhappy by the departure of Enzo Maresca, who left for Chelsea earlier this month (3 June). Leicester have moved rapidly to identify their best candidates for the position following their promotion back to the Premier League.

According to a reliable source, Potter, who last worked for Chelsea in the 2022-23 season, is the slight frontrunner for the position at the King Power Stadium. However, the 49-year-old has turned down multiple offers since leaving Stamford Bridge and has yet to be convinced to take the Leicester position. Cooper, who was fired from Nottingham Forest in December 2023, is the second frontrunner to succeed Maresca.

Potter is the choice for the Leicester post, but he is not sure that the club won the Championship in 2023-24, finishing one point ahead of Ipswich Town. Maresca only took over as manager last summer, but his successful season at the King Power Stadium has already sparked interest from Chelsea. The Foxes could face a points deduction to begin next season after being accused with a violation of Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR) during their title-winning season.

Potter, who formerly managed Brighton and Chelsea, has 141 Premier League games under his belt and a victory rate of just more than 29%. Cooper managed 54 top-flight games for Forest and has a 20.4% win percentage. In other news, an expert believes Leicester might face two point deductions in a unique twist.
