The rumor that Leicester City are considering Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as a new manager has sparked debate among fans. It has been reported that City has spoken with Solskjaer, who has been out of work since his three-year contract with Manchester United expired in late 2021. Other names that have lately arisen as potential possibilities to replace Enzo Maresca at the King Power Stadium include former Chelsea manager Graham Potter, former Nottingham Forest head coach Steve Cooper, and Davide Ancelotti, Carlo Ancelotti’s son and right-hand man at Real Madrid.

However, it appears that Solskjaer’s name has prompted the most controversy. The Norwegian was heavily scrutinised during his time at Old Trafford, yet United finished third and second in the Premier League table in his two full seasons in charge, and they were a penalty shootout away from winning the Europa League. Solskjaer was recently connected with Turkish giants Besiktas, but they chose ex-Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst to fill the empty position. Here’s what City fans have been saying about the 51-year-old on social media and on LeicestershireLive.com.

Two new possibilities have emerged for the Leicester City manager position as the team searches for their next manager. The Sun reports that City has spoken with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and may offer him a return to management. Solskjaer has been out of work since his three-year stint with Manchester United ended in late 2021.

The Norwegian was heavily scrutinized throughout his two full seasons in charge at Old Trafford, although they finished third and second in the Premier League table, and they were a penalty shootout away from winning the Europa League. Before joining City, Solskjaer was connected with the vacant manager role at Turkish giants Besiktas. However, they chose former Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

The second new name is Davide Ancelotti, Carlo Ancelotti’s son and right-hand man at Real Madrid. Ancelotti junior’s reputation has risen in recent years as a result of the tactical work he has done behind the scenes and on the field alongside his father.

According to Spanish site Revelo, Davide Ancelotti’s talent has caught the attention of Manchester City and French side Reims, with both teams contacting Real Madrid to inquire about his availability. However, according to reports, they have been turned down, with the 34-year-old eager to spend another year with the Champions League winners. While Davide Ancelotti had never been the club’s manager before, Enzo Maresca had only managed a few senior games before being promoted. Plus, Davide Ancelotti has some experience working in England, having served as his father’s assistant manager at Everton.
