Breaking News: West Ham set to make an emergency signing for a Spanish forward.

In a recent tweet, AS journalist Marcos Duran stated that West Ham United has made a deal for Atletico Madrid striker Samu Omorodion, who spent last season on loan at Deportivo Alaves. The Hammers have reportedly offered £24 million plus £9 million in bonuses for the Spanish centre-forward as they seek to strengthen their attack this summer.

Omorodion’s promising loan spell At Alaves. Omorodion recently had an exciting loan spell with Alaves, where he put up a number of outstanding offensive performances. The 20-year-old scored nine goals and assisted once in 36 appearances for the Spanish club last season across several competitions. The Spanish wonder led the line rather well for the Spanish club, with an average of 1.9 shots, 0.5 critical passes, and 0.6 dribbles per game in La Liga. However, he has to improve his link-up play up top, as he only completed 72.5% of his attempted passes in the Spanish first division.

His current deal with his parent club Atletico Madrid will expire in the summer of 2028. As a result, if the Hammers want Omorodion to join them at the London Stadium later this year, they must make a compelling offer. What Will Omorodion Bring to West Ham United? Omorodion is skilled at generating space for himself in order to score goals. He can be a streaky goal scorer in the closing third and create opportunities for those around him.

When he’s on his game, the Spanish wonder can make a couple driving runs with the ball. Standing 1.93m, he has the potential to be a strong force in the air, but he needs to work on his link-up in the opponent’s half. Omorodion would provide skill and depth to West Ham’s attack. At age 20, he has the potential to become a long-term success story at the London Stadium. Thus, the Hammers would be prudent to go all out to sign him before the transfer window closes.
