Fraser Forster has extended his Tottenham Hotspur contract by another year, signing new terms until the summer of 2025. Fraser Forster has extended his stay at Tottenham Hotspur, signing a new one-year contract. The experienced goalkeeper joined from Southampton in the summer of 2022 and has made 21 appearances in all competitions for the Lilywhites. Despite receiving a strong run in the team last season in Hugo Lloris’ absence, the Hexham-born shot-stopper has only appeared once this season, starting in the Carabao Cup defeat to Fulham. Providing backup for new first-choice goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, Forster’s next chance in goal could come in the FA Cup against Burnley at home in early January.
With his previous term scheduled to expire at the end of this season, Forster’s new contract will last until the end of the 2024/25 campaign. Speaking on extending his contract in N17 and the influence Ange Postecoglou has had on the team since his summer arrival, he said: “From the moment I arrived, I’ve loved being at the club; we have a fantastic squad; I’ve enjoyed my time here so far, and I’m glad to extend my stay.
“It’s excellent to work with the new management. Ange has arrived, and everyone loves him. I’m excited to contribute to the team’s success and the positive environment at the stadium. It has benefited everyone, not just the goalkeepers. The way he wants to play is really straight and white, and I believe he simply instills confidence in everyone and allows them to play freely. As a player, I believe that is what you want to hear. “The fans have seen what we’re producing on the pitch and, like I say, I’m delighted to be a part of that and hopefully stay as long as I can.”
