Tottenham Hotspur have been urged to sign Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah as they aim to enhance their team this summer. In a recent interview with Give Me Sport, writer Dean Jones pushed Tottenham Hotspur to make a deal for Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah. Jones said: “The Spurs are looking for a depth player, and Chalobah fits the criteria admirably. “They certainly have a preferred defensive partnership, but Chalobah’s versatility allows him to play across that line as well as in midfield.
“And, of course, he contributes toward the homegrown status quota, which is an important consideration for many clubs in the coming months. “Players like these are difficult to find because they rarely enter the market. He is a well-educated and trustworthy footballer, and Spurs will need to act quickly since rival clubs in London, such as Fulham and West Ham, may make a move. Chalobah’s Impressive Performance at Stamford Bridge
Chalobah has played a vital position in Chelsea’s team this season, putting in a few strong performances in the Premier League. This season, the Englishman has played 17 games for the Blues and scored one goal in all competitions. However, Chalobah has missed many games owing to a thigh injury, but he has performed admirably in the Premier League, averaging 1.2 tackles, 0.6 interceptions, and 3.8 clearances per game. Based on his pass success record of 89.6% in the English top flight, he has also been cautious when dispersing possession from the back.
Should Tottenham Hotspur boss Angelos Postecoglu sign Chalobah this summer? Chalobah is an excellent ball-tackler who can make crucial interceptions for his team when defending inside his half. He doesn’t mind clearing the danger when necessary and is skilled at working his way out from behind.
The English defensive ace can also use his 1.92m height to win a few 50-50 aerial duels. He has great Premier League experience and will adjust quickly to life at Tottenham if Angelos Postecoglu can get him on board this summer. Chalobah would inject more bite and grit into the North London club’s midfield. He will also help Spurs compete on other fronts in the future. Thus, Tottenham should go all hard to sign him later this year.
