The Miami Dolphins have officially extended Jaylen Waddle after months of rumors. The two sides reached an agreement on a three-year, $84.75 million contract with a $76 million guarantee, according to Adam Schefter.

At slightly over $28 million a year, Waddle’s contract places him as the fourth highest-paid receiver in terms of average income. Waddle’s college teammate  was also extended by the Philadelphia Eagles to a three-year, $75 million contract more than a month ago.

Amon-Ra St. Brown exceeded Smith’s expectations by signing a four-year, $120 million contract with the Detroit Lions not long after Smith raised the bar.

Waddle, who was selected in the 2021 draft, has established himself as a key player in Miami’s offense with 251 receptions, 3,385 receiving yards, and 18 touchdowns. In 2022, the former outstanding player for the University of Alabama recorded career highs of 1,356 receiving yards and 8 touchdowns.

In his first season, Waddle broke rookie records for receiving yards and receptions for the Dolphins. In all three of his seasons, he has eclipsed 1,000 yards.
