The NFL standout player for the Miami Dolphins welcomed a new child.

Cam Smith was aware that he could have to wait a while to be given a starting defensive position when he came to South Carolina in 2019. He joined a team that already included Israel Mukuamu and Jaycee Horn, two future professionals. Smith didn’t start for the team full-time until 2021.

Also, Smith seemed poised for a similar career start when the Dolphins selected him with the first pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, selecting him at No. 51 overall in the second round, learning under veteran players Jalen Ramsey and Xavien Howard in addition to rookie Kader Kohou.

It looks like Smith’s recovery time has accelerated because to Ramsey’s meniscus surgery, which could keep him out of action until December. In his first NFL season, he’s getting closer and closer to a starting position. Smith’s perspective hasn’t altered despite Ramsey’s injury, though.

He declared following Sunday’s practice, “I was already planning on playing, or keeping in my head that I was going to be on the field regardless of any injury or anything that happened.” However, now that it’s kind of here, closer than it was actually meant to be, there are a lot more people who have the chance to succeed.

Although Smith lined up in several areas during his All-SEC career, he claimed that since joining the Dolphins, the Dolphins have only used him as an outside corner, as that is how they have used him. When Miami has two cornerbacks in base packages, Kohou can play outside. Additionally, the Dolphins need a dependable outside option when they utilize three or more corners because he is the team’s anticipated slot corner.
