Earlier today, Italian news site Calcio Mercato reported that the Black Cats were on the verge of unveiling former Young Boys manager Raphael Wicky as their new head coach. The former Switzerland international was set to sign a two-year contract with an option for an additional year. As fans began to breathe a sigh of relief that their club had finally agreed on a new head coach after more than 100 days of seeking, reports surfaced from sources such as Fabrizio Romano and the Sunderland Echo that Wicky would not be named. Sunderland’s quest for Raphael Wicky continues, despite widely differing reports.

Jobe Bellingham Wanted According to reports this evening, Crystal Palace and Brentford are both interested in highly-rated teenager Jobe Bellingham, the brother of Real Madrid’s Jude. According to Fabrizio Romano and the Sunderland Echo, the 18-year-old is the primary target for both Premier League clubs. The teenager has several seasons left on his contract, which he signed just last summer. As a result, any amount given to Sunderland would need to be substantial to entice them to sell.
