Orlean saint has sideline their defensive end due to…
The NFL sustains a number of injuries over the offseason that eventually impact the way the season plays out. Regrettably, the New Orleans Saints are now affected by the offseason injury plague. Veteran defensive end Tanoh Kpassagnon sustained a torn Achilles tendon during the offseason, head coach Dennis Allen disclosed on Tuesday.
Kpassagnon won’t be ready for training camp, according to Allen, who continued, adding that he will be sidelined for some time. Although Allen did not specify the precise date of the injury or the date of Kpassagnon’s operation, it is reasonable to conclude that Kpassagnon will miss the most of the 2024 season, if not all of it, given our knowledge of Achilles injuries.
The defensive line in New Orleans, which was hoping for a season of recovery, has suffered a serious setback as a result. As the team’s top defensive ends, Chase Young, Carl Granderson, and Cam Jordan, Kpassagnon was considered a valuable depth addition for the Saints. While Kpassagnon heals, New Orleans will now have to rely on other guys.
Tanoh Kpassagnon, who will turn 30 in June, was getting ready for his sixth NFL season. He played for the Kansas City Chiefs for his first four seasons before spending the last three in New Orleans. He played 405 snaps last year, or 37% of the defensive snaps for the Saints, appearing in all 17 games. Kpassagnon has 19 tackles, four for a loss, 3.5 sacks, and nine quarterback hits in those snaps.
