Superstar wide receiver Justin Jefferson and the Minnesota Vikings are now involved in a contentious contract dispute. There are those who think a settlement will be reached between the parties, while others predict a divorce. Earlier this offseason, it seems the Vikings were extremely willing to let go of Jefferson.
The Vikings attempted to trade up in the 2024 NFL Draft in order to obtain Malik Nabers, according to a report by Charley Walters of the Pioneer Press. Jefferson would have been traded if they had been successful in making the deal.
During the draft, there was talk that the Vikings intended to drop from No. 11 to No. 5 in order to select LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers, who was selected by the [New York] Giants at No. 6 instead of a quarterback. If that trade had happened, Nabers would have been the top receiver and Jefferson would have been traded.
