Veteran wide receiver who retired from the NFL has signed a deal with the Philadelphia Eagles worth $60.5million

John Ross, a seasoned wide receiver, has returned to the NFL. Ross has a contract with the Philadelphia Eagles. He will retire from the NFL in 2023.

Ross reportedly demonstrated enough during the Eagles’ rookie minicamp earlier in May to earn a contract with the team. He last participated in an NFL game in 2021, appearing in 12 games with the New York Giants, where he caught 11 catches for 224 yards and one score. Prior to that, he was a member of the Cincinnati Bengals.

Philly announced the news on their social media, revealing that Ross inked a one-year contract.

The Eagles’ wideout tandem of DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown is among the finest in the league, but their wideout group is ranked lower on the depth chart. DeVante Parker, a wide receiver for the former New England Patriots, was supposed to be the third choice in 2024, but he unexpectedly announced his retirement earlier this month. If he stays healthy, Ross will have a fantastic opportunity to establish himself as a key member of the team.

The Cincinnati Bengals selected John Ross ninth overall in the 2017 NFL Draft, believing his exceptional speed will lead to a great future in the league. But a series of setbacks kept Ross from realizing his full potential. During his five years in the league, he was able to participate in just 37 games and recorded 62 receptions for 957 yards and 11 touchdowns.
