The former Iowa head coach said something strange about Caitlin Clark in the…

As a rookie, Caitlin Clark is quickly rising to the top of the WNBA. But on Saturday night, when the Indiana Fever went to Las Vegas to play the Aces, she wasn’t the big event. Actually, Kate Martin, her old teammate from Iowa, was the star of the show.

Martin laughed and remarked, “I’m not going to lie, it was weird.” It was clear to see that she was wearing a different jersey than mine when I turned to look out onto the floor. But it’s a lot of fun. Right now, we’re both pursuing our goals and competing at the greatest level possible. Therefore, we are both incredibly appreciative of that chance.

Lisa Bluder, the former Iowa coach of the two, was seated courtside and present. To stay impartial, she was dressed in Iowan clothes.

Martin remarked on the postgame broadcast, “It’s pretty cool when your college coaches are sitting courtside right next to the bench.” This place in Las Vegas is absolutely enjoyable. Being a member of our team is a lot of fun. I’m honored to work for this organization and receive the kind of fan support we do. Furthermore, it’s awesome that many Hawkeye Nation members could attend.

Clark gave Martin high praise before Saturday’s game. She praised her friend for being a complete player and wonderful person.
