Taliese Fuaga was selected by the New Orleans Saints with the 14th overall choice in the hopes that he would provide an instant boost to an offensive line that was in dire need of assistance. Having acknowledged that, the Saints aren’t wasting any time in acclimating him to the position; at OTAs, they have already lined him up at left tackle.

Naturally, the offseason is still early, but if Fuaga can maintain that position, the Saints will benefit greatly from his presence and his first season of league action will be filled with exciting matchups. Micah Parsons will put him to the test early in Week 2 when the New Orleans Saints play the Dallas Cowboys. There are a few more exciting matches on the calendar if Fuaga can make it through that and stay in the starting lineup.

That involves a few face-to-face matches with other novices. Bleacher Report’s Ryan Fowler just listed the top seven head-to-head rookie matchups for the 2024 NFL schedule. The Los Angeles Rams’ Fuaga vs. Verse matchup made the list.

The season’s thirteenth week will see a matchup between these two rookies and teams. Fuaga, aged 14, and Verse, at 19, both first round picks, are anticipated to have significant roles in their teams’ inaugural campaigns. The Rams defense will be assisted by Verse, an edge defender, as they transition from the Aaron Donald era. Though Los Angeles is hopeful that Verse can assist supplement the productivity of the future Hall of Famer, that move will undoubtedly not be simple.

In Week 13, Fuaga will be responsible for ensuring that doesn’t occur. Fuaga will be positioned across from Micah Parsons, Joey Bosa, Khalil Mack, and Myles Garrett by then in the season. Fuaga ought to be able to manage Verse if he does well against those superior pass rushers.
