TEAMtalk reports that West Ham United are considering a £22 million proposal for Fenerbache defender Ferdi Kadioglu, as well as a move for Fabricio Bruno this summer.
According to the report (May 23), the Hammers are ready to make a bid for the Turkey international, with Julen Lopetegui having approved the deal.
Kadioglu’s play this season has piqued the interest of Mikel Arteta and Arsenal, yet West Ham remain in pole position.
Lopetegui is known to have scouted the defender when at Wolves and is now expected to move quickly to sign him at the London Stadium.
Along with Bruno, Kadioglu might be the Spaniard’s second signing in his short tenure.
Should West Ham sign Ferdi Kadioglu?
The Turkish international can play as both a left and right defender, making him a viable option.
His preferred position is on the left, which Emerson and Aaron Cresswell may already hold ahead of the upcoming season under the Spanish head coach.
This season, Kadioglu has appeared in 36 Super Lig games, scoring one goal and assisting four others [FotMob].
He possesses a number of vital traits that might make him an excellent fit for the Premier League if he signs.
His defensive abilities are excellent, but his dribbling, crossing, and short passing make him a valuable asset in the attacking third.
Kadioglu is expected to demand reassurance that he would be a regular starter before leaving a Champions League club.
Given Lopetegui’s desire to sign the full-back at two different clubs, he is likely to make him a reliable option.
In other West Ham news, Sheffield United’s stance on Oliver Arblaster has emerged as the Hammers express interest.
