It’s officially transfer portal season. Coaches and athletes are leaving programs all the time in search of better opportunities. Regardless of what internet fans may think, these players make decisions based on what is best for them.
Alabama frequently attracts transfers who want to advance to the next level. They’ve all gone on to play in the NFL and are now listed as active players.

Gerald Mincey is an example of how the proverb “The third time is a charm” comes to pass. The native of Florida attended Florida for his first year of college before moving to Tennessee. Mincey has appeared in 33 games during his career. During his two seasons with the Volunteers, he made 14 starts.
Alabama may elect to seek an experienced offensive tackle in light of the loss of offensive tackle JC Latham to the 2024 NFL draft. Mincey, with his SEC expertise, would be a good choice. He might be a possibility in the future. Alabama is not currently associated with Mincey.
