With four players chosen, the most recent NFL Draft proved to be another fruitful one for the Kentucky football program. The squad led by Mark Stoops has selected 22 players in the last five years. It’s never too early to plan forward, and the draft of the following year might be one of the greatest ever. Let’s examine the current situation in advance with our 2025 Early Kentucky NFL Draft Preview.

Deone Walker is the focal point of the Wildcats draft fervor. The 348-pound, 6-foot-6 defensive lineman has 55 total tackles, 12.5 of which were for a loss. He also had two passes defended in addition to 7.5 sacks. Walker was therefore named to the first team of the SEC and was placed on the watch lists for the Nakurski and Outland Trophies.

Walker is currently ranked as the fifth-best prospect in America by Pro Football Focus. He is a top-10 pick in a lot of other early mock drafts. He would be the first Wildcat selected in the first round since Jamin Davis, who was selected 19th overall by Washington in 2021, if it were to happen. Moreover, he would be the first top-10 selection since Jacksonville selected Josh Allen with the seventh overall pick in 2019. Walker is probably a first-day selection early on, assuming he has a fantastic season.
