The orlean saints happily welcome back their former QB

Since joining the Saints in 2020, Jameis Winston has gained a lot of support from the locals in New Orleans. Although he didn’t become the starter quarterback the Saints had hoped for, he was a fantastic backup and a real buzz in the locker room. When he got his chance, this made a lot of fans and the media happy.

However, Winston signed a one-year contract to play with the Cleveland Browns this offseason. In Week 11, the Saints will play the Browns at home. This will pave the way for Jameis Winston’s comeback. Here are the reasons it wouldn’t be shocking if he were the starter even though he isn’t right now.

After being acquired by the Browns in a trade back in 2022, Deshaun Watson has been the starting quarterback for the team. However, since then, Watson’s inability to stay on the field has limited his success in Cleveland; over the previous two seasons, he has only appeared in 12 games because of injuries and suspensions.

Watson had a season-ending injury in Week 10 of the previous season. It is not at all guaranteed that he will be able to stay healthy for the entire season, even if the Browns are expecting him to be ready for the season opening. Jameis Winston might be able to obtain possibilities in this way.

Going elsewhere would have been a wise decision, even though the Saints would have gladly welcomed Winston back to New Orleans. In the Big Easy, he did have some opportunities. He experienced a tumultuous couple of years due to a variety of injuries and little playing time.

Winston was presented with an offer from Cleveland that he couldn’t turn down: potential playing time. He still sees himself as a quarterback capable of winning a Super Bowl. Winston may establish himself this year in a different setting, whether or not that is the case. When he returns in Week 11, the Saints may get a close-up look at it.
