On a charge of evading justice, a man who has reportedly trained a number of NBA All-Stars and Celtics players made an appearance in court on Monday.

On Friday, in East Greenwich, Rhode Island resident Robert McClanaghan, 43, was taken into custody. He was wanted for rape and drugging for sexual relations on a warrant issued by Boston Municipal Court.

On the additional allegation of fugitive from justice, he appeared before a court in Kent County, Rhode Island, on Monday. He declined extradition and was detained without bond. It is anticipated by the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office that he will be brought from Rhode Island to Massachusetts on Monday evening in order to be charged on Tuesday morning.

The district attorney’s office said in a statement that this is the first instance in which it has brought charges for drugged rape.
