After Tiger Woods’ victories in 2001 and 2002, Scheffler became the second player to win the Masters twice while ranked No. 1 overall. After his first victory in 2022, Scheffler became the fifth player to win the Masters while ranked No. 1 overall, after Woods, Dustin Johnson (2020), Fred Couples (1992), and Ian Woosnam (1991). In addition, the 27-year-old became just the second player after Horton Smith in 1934 and 1936 to win two Masters in his first five starts.
