Leicester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho is expected to make and announce a decision on his future by the end of the month.
According to a report from Turkish site Takvim, the 27-year-old is garnering interest from several European clubs.
Leicester has had a successful year following their relegation from the Premier League previous season.
Under new manager Enzo Maresca, the Foxes bounced back at the first attempt, winning the Championship title and securing an immediate return to the top flight of English football.
However, it appears that one of their Premier League players, Iheanacho, will not be returning.
Interest in Iheanacho is growing as the decision looms.
As things stand, the striker’s contract with Leicester expires at the end of the season, and there is no indication that he will sign a new agreement.
That, of course, implies he can join a new team on a free transfer ahead of the next season.
Indeed, Iheanacho is garnering a lot of interest from other sources. According to recent reports, Aston Villa director Monchi spoke with the 27-year-old’s representatives to discuss a summer move.
However, it looks that the Premier League team would have stiff competition from elsewhere in the race to recruit the Nigeria international.
According to the most recent update, three Turkish clubs – Fenerbahce, Galatasaray, and Besiktas – as well as clubs from Germany and Italy, are all interested in signing the Leicester forward.
It is also believed that Iheanacho will make a decision on where he will play football starting next season by the end of the month.
As a result, these interested clubs, along with Leicester, may not have long to wait to find out where the striker will play in the 2024/25 season and beyond.
Iheanacho will be a valuable addition for interested clubs.
It appears that Iheanacho’s transfer from Leicester will be beneficial to whichever club is able to sign him in the summer.
The striker has fallen down the pecking order at The King Power Stadium in recent months, which could be explained by his contract predicament.
Nonetheless, he has demonstrated in the past that he is more than capable of scoring at the highest level, having done it with both Manchester City and Leicester City.
As a result, he might become a valuable outlet leading the line for one of those clubs, potentially at a high level.
Aside from that, the fact that he is out of contract in the summer, making him available on a free transfer, means that from a financial standpoint, this is a risk-free deal that might turn beneficial if they can sell Iheanacho in the future.
With that in mind, it appears that these interested clubs may wish to press for the striker’s signature in the summer, assuming he leaves Leicester City at the end of the season.
