Everton are in a three-way competition for Leicester City winger Kasey McAteer as they seek to enhance their team this summer.
According to journalist Pete O’Rourke, Everton is in a three-way competition to sign Leicester City winger Kasey McAteer. According to reports, the Toffees will face competition from Newcastle United and Crystal Palace to sign the English wide man this summer.

McAteer’s Impressive Performance At The King Power Stadium, McAteer has delivered impressive performances in the final third for the East Midlands team. The 22-year-old has seven goals in 26 matches for Leicester this season, across all competitions.
The English prospect has caught the attention of some with his offensive contributions, and he deserves respect for averaging 1.4 shots and 0.7 dribbles per 90 minutes in the EFL Championship. He has also been cautious while distributing possession from wide areas, having completed 83.9% of his attempted passes in the second division of English football (data from whoscored).

His current deal with Leicester will expire in the summer of 2025, which might allow the Toffees to recruit him on the cheap at the end of this season.

Should Everton’s manager move in for McAteer?
McAteer can generate space for himself to take attempts at goal. He has long-range power shooting ability and is also a superb dribbler. The English attacker is mostly a right-winger, but he can also play as a left-sided wide player or number 10 if necessary. However, only time will tell whether he can demonstrate his worth in Premier League football if the Toffees sign him later this year.

McAteer would add additional goals to Everton’s front line. He might even help the Merseyside club compete on multiple fronts in the future years. At 22, McAteer’s future appears bright, therefore the English club should focus on signing him at the end of the season.

McAteer would be an excellent fit for Everton’s long-term needs. As a result, it makes sense for the Toffees to sign him at a low cost soon.
