Aston Villa has seen a spectacular growth since Unai Emery’s hiring in…

Aston Villa are apparently interested in signing Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher this summer, with one of their own players perhaps leaving for Stamford Bridge.

The England international, who is scheduled to skipper the Blues against Bournemouth this weekend, could play his final game for his boyhood club after failing to reach an agreement on a new contract, which is slated to expire next year.

He will miss not only the West Londoners’ final game of the season, but also the first two games of the following season. Nonetheless, Chelsea has moved up to sixth place after Manchester United overcame Newcastle.

However, the Blues’ participation in Europe has yet to be secured. So, with that said, football.london investigated the many ways Chelsea may secure Europa League football.

Italy and Germany have earned the additional Champions League qualification spots, leaving only the top four teams in the Premier League to compete in the restructured competition next season. Aston Villa, along with Arsenal, Manchester City, and Liverpool, qualified for the competition when Tottenham Hotspur were defeated by the reigning champions on Tuesday night.

Fifth place will qualify for next season’s Europa League, with the squad jumping right into the new format without any extra pre-qualifiers.
