Former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback sues Steelers for wrongful contract termination.

Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers are optimistic that their active offseason will translate into on-field success during the 2024 NFL season. Even after a difficult 2023 season, Tomlin guided his club to the playoffs and another successful season. To this point in his career, Tomlin has never allowed the Steelers to lose a season, which is absurd in itself.

Most NFL observers believe the Steelers have improved this offseason. They had dismal quarterback play in 2023 and improved that position in two distinct moves. Russell Wilson was signed in free agency, and they acquired Justin Fields in a trade with the Chicago Bears. Despite improvements at the quarterback position and some excellent acquisitions to the rest of the roster, one former player and NFL pundit had a harsh prognosis for the Steelers in 2024. Pittsburgh Steelers Receive Brutal 2024 Prediction.

Mark Schlereth, a former NFL player and current analyst, made a cruel prediction. He believes Tomlin will suffer through his first losing season with the Steelers because of who he has at quarterback. “Based on who’s at quarterback, Mike Tomlin will suffer his first losing season this year. Based on the two quarterbacks who play for him.”

Needless to say, that is a massive prediction. Russell Wilson and Justin Fields are both better over Kenny Pickett and Mason Rudolph, the Pittsburgh Steelers’ quarterbacks last season. Making this prediction solely on the quarterback situation seems incorrect. Despite the perceived upgrade, Schlereth expressed concerns about potential sack issues due to both new quarterbacks’ poor snap-to-throw timings.

Despite this issue, it appears like Wilson and/or Fields will outperform their 2023 quarterbacks. They also acquired a lot of talent to the roster, particularly through the 2024 NFL Draft. Granted, anything may happen. However, given Tomlin’s professional success, it is impossible to believe this prognosis. This does not appear to be the squad with which he will suffer his first losing season, given some of the teams with whom he has won over the years.

It will be interesting to observe how the Pittsburgh Steelers begin the 2024 season. We’ll know a lot more about this team once the first couple weeks of the season are completed.
