Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff agreed to signed because….

He guided the Lions to their first NFC Championship game in decades, and the fans have embraced him since he was traded to Detroit for Matthew Stafford.

“The fans—and everything they’ve meant to me, the support they’ve given. “They’re a big reason I can stand here today,” Goff added. “The ultimate success is winning the Super Bowl.”

Goff has recently had a lot of love from Lions fans, but this has not always been the case during his career. Like many athletes, he believes he performs best with a chip on his shoulder, and he hopes to maintain his success for Lions fans to enjoy.

“I think I play my best when I’m doubted,” Goff stated. “So, like, (I’ll) continue to find ways, and maybe fabricate ways if not, that’s part of the answer, and it’s also the internal motivation to want to win for this city, for my teammates, and for my coaches…this city means so much to me now, there aren’t as many external motivators as there are internal motivators, I just want to win for them.” I want our fans to appreciate the success we’ve enjoyed over the previous year and a half and continue to do so.”

Before throwing an interception last September, Goff had thrown 383 consecutive passes without making a mistake, behind only two other players in NFL history. He concluded the 2023 regular season ranked second in passing yards and fourth with 30 touchdowns, including five that tied franchise and personal records in a sweep of Denver.

When questioned about being motivated, Goff emphasized the security that comes with a long-term contract and stated that his motivation will remain strong, with Super Bowl hopes fueling him.
