The order for the 2024 NBA Draft has been finalized, and the Atlanta Hawks have won the lottery with the first overall pick. The Hawks began the drawing with the tenth-best odds overall, with a three percent chance of getting the first choice, and they managed to cash in. The remaining top-five teams are the Washington Wizards, Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs, and Detroit Pistons.
Since our initial forecast the day following the 2023 draft, there has been little consensus at the top of the 2024 selection class. Alex Sarr, a French big man who played in Australia, is seen as a minor leader for the overall No. 1 spot as an athletic 7’1 big man. Zaccharie Risacher, a French forward, may also get early notice due to his stature (6’9), shooting ability, and on-ball defense.
