The Green Bay Packers appear to be in a strong position to make the playoffs in 2024. After only one full year since trading away four-time MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers, the Packers could even challenge for the Super Bowl. One coach is aware of what is happening in Green Bay and wishes to remain there.
One Packers coach returned in 2024 instead of retiring. According to Vinnie Portell of FanSided, Packers fans are well aware that quarterbacks coach Tom Clements has played a significant role in Aaron Rodgers and Jordan Love’s success. And it says a lot about the Packers’ current status that Clements was so eager to commit to another season despite being 70 years old. “”I’m at the point where it’s year to year,” Clements told reporters during the offseason. “The way we ended (the season), it really wasn’t that tough of a process to decide to come back.” This is tremendous news for Green Bay supporters since Love isn’t yet a fully developed NFL starter, but he may be soon.
The Packers’ offense may be scary good. In 2024 The Packers have a lot of optimism heading into the 2024 season. Only three offensive starters from last season’s opening day are not returning: Jon Runyan, David Bakhtiari, and Aaron Jones. Rasheed Walker replaced Bakhtiari in 17 games (including playoffs) when he sustained an injury in Week 1. Jones was replaced by Josh Jacobs, a former All-Pro. All of their best pass receivers have returned. However, they all have one year of experience catching Love’s throws in LaFleur’s offense.
Rookies Jordan Morgan and MarShawn Lloyd can address a few offensive weaknesses. “Oh, it’s night and day. It’s like night and day compared to previous year, when we only had three receivers on the roster heading into the draft. “We had two tight ends,” offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich stated on Monday. “It was simply one of those things where you didn’t know what path you could take because you didn’t know who was going to be on your team or what skill set they possessed. Even going into camp and the season, the question was, how much can you put on these guys’ plates while still allowing them to execute?
So, everyone has a year under their belt. It’s been nice to know what these guys are good at, what they need to work on, and to just let them go and be the greatest players they can be.”
