Orchard Park, New York — The Buffalo Bills chose Kentucky running back Ray Davis with the 128th pick in the fourth round of the NFL Draft.

Last season, Davis, 24, rushed for 1,129 yards and scored 21 touchdowns for the Wildcats. NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein gave Davis a fourth-round rating, and he joins a Bills backfield led by James Cook.

Cook was the Bills’ starting running back last season, sharing the backfield with Ty Johnson (who returned to the team in free agency) and veterans Latavius Murray and Leonard Fournette. Davis played two seasons at Temple, two seasons at Vanderbilt, and completed his college career at Kentucky. Davis and Cook are the same age.

At the combine, NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah compared Davis’ lower body to five-time Pro Bowl running back Frank Gore, who played one season for the Bills in 2019.

Davis stands 5-foot-8 and weighs 211 pounds. He’s the first running back in the history of college football to record 1,000-yard rushing seasons with three different FCS schools (Kentucky, Vanderbilt, and Temple).
