Steelers running back has been the subject of trade rumors since the fifth-year option was declined…Najee Harris, the Pittsburgh Steelers running back, has been the subject of trade rumors since the organization declined his rookie contract’s fifth-year option. The Alabama product is set to enter free agency following the 2024 season, leading some to assume he could be available for a reasonable price. While Harris’ agency dismissed the allegations, the nice folks at Bleacher Report speculated on a possible agreement. According to the site’s Instagram account, the Dallas Cowboys may make a run for the former Pro Bowler.
Once again, it’s important to note that Najee Harris and his representatives have denied all trade rumors. While he may not land a second contract with the Steelers, all signs indicate that he will spend the 2024 season with Pittsburgh. With that disclaimer out of the way, the Dallas Cowboys make perfect sense if the Steelers decide to part ways with their primary running back.
After promising to go all in, Jerry Jones did little while Tony Pollard and several important players left in free agency. Currently, the Cowboys are battling for starting duties Ezekiel Elliott, Rico Dowdle, and Deuce Vaughn, all of whom are past their prime. Najee Harris may not live up to his first-round draft capital, but the trade target is far superior to those three players. While he lacks outstanding peak speed, he is one of the finest in the game at breaking tackles and gaining difficult yards.
If Najee Harris is on the trade market, the Dallas Cowboys will not be the only team interested in acquiring him. Most likely, he’ll remain with the Steelers in 2024, but if he’s traded, these five teams could be potential destinations
