Draisaitl stated earlier in the day that he would be a “game time decision” after appearing to labour late in Edmonton’s heartbreaking 5-4 loss to the Canucks on Wednesday.

Following the game, Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch stated that the star forward was experiencing “cramping and equipment issues.” Draisaitl did not practice on Thursday or attend the Oilers’ optional pre-game skate on Friday, but he told reporters Friday morning that he was feeling “a little bit better.” Edmonton forward Adam Henrique will also participate, having missed Game 1 due to an ankle ailment. Draisaitl earned two assists in Game 1, but his ice time was limited to 16 minutes and 43 seconds, far below his regular-season average of 20:41. He has scored in each of Edmonton’s six postseason games this season, totaling five goals and seven assists.

Henrique has made five postseason appearances, scoring one goal and providing one assist. This item from The Canadian Press was first published on May 10, 2024. Gemma Karstens-Smith of The Canadian Press
