The Green Bay Packers are pleased with their new franchise quarterback, Jordan Love. They have now had three outstanding quarterbacks in a row, with their former quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, now playing for the New York Jets. Rodgers is coming off a season-ending injury and will seek to reclaim the league’s lead. The Jets quarterback has been very supportive of his young new receivers in New York, which did not sit well with a former Packers receiver.
Former Green Bay Packers receiver wished Aaron Rodgers welcomed him. Former Packers receiver Amari Rodgers moved to social media to criticize the quarterback for failing to welcome him and the team’s other young receivers in the same way he does in New York. Amari made and then deleted a post on X, claiming that while Aaron’s backing of his young receivers is admirable, he wishes he had received the same level of encouragement when he entered the NFL.
It is critical for rookie receivers to be taken under the wing of their quarterbacks, especially when the quarterback is an MVP and a true veteran of the league. Amari must be furious that Rodgers is willing to be that helpful veteran with the Jets but not with the Packers.
“Promise this helps him play better as a Rookie… if only I had this type of love coming into GB, but to each his own!” Rodgers wrote. It’s fantastic to see Aaron’s connection with teammates has improved significantly, as Rodgers has never been considered to be the best or most welcoming teammate. Amari Rodgers Trying To Return To NFL
Amari Rodgers showed flashes of success while playing for the Packers, but he only appeared in 26 games before being released. The highly rated third-round draft pick from Clemson was expected to be a quick over-the-top player who could also contribute on special teams. But it was definitely not a good fit. We’ll never know if Amari would have performed better if he had his MVP quarterback’s assistance. He concluded his career with the Packers, recording 20 receptions for 249 yards and one score. He was mostly a focal point for special teams.
He only appeared in nine more games after leaving the Packers, with the Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans splitting the rest. Amari is now playing in the UFL, hoping to get another chance in the NFL. It is well documented that Rodgers departed the Packers on terrible terms, and that his attitude did not gel with the team during his last years. It’s terrific to watch Rodgers take young receivers under his wing, but it’s unfortunate for his former teammates who wish they’d had the same opportunity.
