Andrus Peat’s time with the New Orleans Saints is finally finished, according to reports.

Andrus Peat will not be with the New Orleans Saints in 2024. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Peat is set to sign with the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday afternoon. He spent nine NFL seasons with the Saints.

Peat, 30, was selected 13th overall by New Orleans in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft out of Stanford. He was the third lineman taken, and one of six offensive linemen in the first round that season.

Peat, who played tackle in college, was anticipated to take over as the Saints’ starting right tackle. As a rookie, he appeared in 12 games and started eight of them. Peat began the 2016 season as the starting left guard after failing to reclaim the right tackle spot from incumbent starter Zach Strief. He started 15 games for the team that season, including some in place of the injured Terron Armstead at left tackle.

Over the next three years, Peat was regarded as one of the league’s top run blocking interior linemen. He’d occasionally replace an injured Armstead at left tackle, but he’d definitely settled in on the inside.

Between 2018 and 2020, Peat was a member of one of the league’s greatest offensive lines, earning three consecutive Pro Bowl selections. The only genuine criticism he received was for his injuries. He had never played a full season and missed a total of 31 games between 2018 and 2022 due to various injuries.

Beginning the 2023 season as a reserve, the Saints called on Peat to replace an underperforming Trevor Penning at left tackle six games in. Peat had one of his greatest seasons, appearing in a career-high 16 games and taking the most offensive snaps (809) since 2017.

When Peat entered free agency, many expected the Saints to bring him back after the draft. Instead, it appears that his New Orleans career has come to an end.
