The New York Giants have competition for the QB1 position.

The Giants’ quarterback room has been entertaining this offseason. Drew Lock, a former Denver Broncos starting quarterback, will battle with Daniel Jones for the QB1 job this fall. The Giants were anticipated to consider drafting a quarterback with their sixth pick in the draft. Instead, the Giants used the pick to select wide receiver Malik Nabers.

Nathan Rourke joins the Giants.

According to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, the Giants claimed Rourke off waivers from the Patriots. The Patriots released the former Canadian Football League “star” on Monday. He’ll be joining Jones, Lock, and Tommy DeVito in the Giants’ quarterback room this offseason.

Rourke won the CFL’s Most Outstanding Canadian Award for the 2022 season. In the CFL, he had 307 throwing attempts for 406 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions. He has no NFL statistics.
