The more I read about it, the more I worry whether some Sunderland fans are getting a little too excited over Will Still’s appointment as head coach.
His record in Reims is 25 victories out of 65 games, for an average of 5 wins every 13 games. In contrast, Michael Beale’s record was four out of twelve.
Furthermore, Reims has lost more games than it has won this season.
They keep citing the team’s great nineteen-game unbeaten streak, but if that’s the case, they’ve probably lost a couple games subsequently.
With that in mind, isn’t it wiser to wait till Danny Röhl’s position at Sheffield Wednesday is resolved? We know he can handle the Championship, after all.
I also don’t see why the recruitment team believes the present strategy will get us promoted, given their reluctance to add experienced players.
They have left us without a goalscoring striker in the last three transfer windows, and some of their actions this season have been tough to fathom.

When Tony Mowbray was ousted, I anticipated we would finish fourteenth.
I’m not sure if the owners even realize what they have, which is a true jewel with at least 30,000 supporters screaming and rallying behind the squad every week.
Would you consider investing in Sunderland AFC at the moment? Do we seem like a better investment now than when we were taken over?
Many have pointed out the lack of investment and strong adherence to one vision; nevertheless, we may be taken over and attract an American consortium, an Irish contingent, or a mix of Sunderland fans and other money men.
Why? Is it any different from other teams that invest, hire, and fire on a yearly basis? Perhaps we should give the five-year plan a chance and see where it takes us in two more seasons.
Personally, I would probably add more coaches as well as specialists in dead ball, defense, and shooting.
If they’re all learning, maybe division of labour is the answer, because one or two individuals can’t do everything, and we should invest in good tactical people for all of our squads, as ‘evolution rather than revolution’ always works.
When was the last time we invested in actual top flight coaches at all levels of the club? It is something to consider.

First and foremost, this season has been a major disappointment, and Kyril Louis-Dreyfus and Kristjaan Speakman must be held responsible.
However, let’s be realistic: we’re only two years out from the club’s lowest point in its history, and the squad simply isn’t as good as the Sunderland teams of the 1990s and 2000s, when we were perennial promotion contenders.
