The Arizona Cardinals have signed Markus Bailey, a former Cincinnati Bengals linebacker and special teams ace.
The Arizona Cardinals Football Club announced today that they had signed linebacker Markus Bailey to a one-year contract. The signing occurred today at the Dignity Health Arizona Cardinals Training Center in Tempe, Arizona.
Bailey (6-1, 235) played 60 games (four starts) for Cincinnati over the last four seasons (2020-23), recording 53 tackles, four passes defensed, and a half sack, as well as 20 special teams tackles. Bailey appeared in all 17 games last season and had 309 special teams snaps, ranking second on the Bengals. Bailey, 27, was drafted by Cincinnati in the seventh round (215th overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft from Purdue. He also appeared in seven playoff games for the Bengals, making three tackles on defense and five on special teams.
The special teams rule revisions indicate a greater emphasis on this aspect of the game.
