The additions of Romano and Swanson in particular will be massive as the Jays look to fortify their bullpen beyond Yimi Garcia and Chad Green.
Romano is a two-time All-Star who is 19-15 in his career with a 2.67 ERA.
He’s appeared in 59 games or more in each of the last three seasons and registered 36 saves in each of the last two.
Swanson has turned into one of the best set-up men in all of baseball, appearing in 57 and 69 games the last two seasons, respectively. He struck out 75 batters in 66.2 innings last season and helped the Blue Jays get back to the playoffs for a second straight season.
With regards to Jansen, he’ll add another power-hitting threat behind the plate, as he’ll pair with Alejandro Kirk to make up the Jays’ catching tandem. He’s a lifetime .224 hitter but he has 65 home runs, including 17 in just 86 games last season.
The Blue Jays will start a big series in the division on Monday night with the rival New York Yankees. First pitch from Toronto is set for 7:07 p.m. ET. Luis Guil (NYY) pitches against Chris Bassitt, who is 1-2 with a 5.06 ERA.
