Braves news: Atlanta suffers sweep in Los Angeles, Ronald Acuna Jr. finds form, and more
The Braves faced one of their most difficult road trips in a long time.
On the one side, the Braves struggle to win at Seattle or Dodger Stadium.
Since 2014, they’ve gone 2-6 on the road versus the Mariners and 6-21 against the Dodgers. However, on paper, this Braves team outperforms the majority of franchise history. The basic truth, as verified by a 1-5 road trip for the Braves, is that the Braves are currently not performing up to their standards.
The Braves endured a microcosm of their recent play during a 5-1 loss to the Dodgers on Sunday, which completed Los Angeles’ series sweep. Several squandered opportunities on very hittable pitches, as well as some unfortunate luck with hard-hit balls in play. Sure, Atlanta’s fortunes could turn quickly if they just keep hitting the ball hard. However, it is evident that the Braves’ offense is having one of its worst slumps in recent years. Hopefully, a trip home will help the Braves lineup regain form.
