BREAKING: New England Patriots Sign Veteran (501 Point Scoring Weapon)

On Thursday, the New England Patriots signed a seasoned scorer to their roster. The Patriots have made significant efforts to improve their offensive for the next season, after finishing tied with the Carolina Panthers for the league’s lowest points per game (13.9) last year.

The New England Patriots are rebuilding their offense.

The Patriots required upgrades for all of their offensive units. They traded Mac Jones to the Jacksonville Jaguars and selected Drake Maye with the third pick in the draft. They drafted two offensive linemen, two wide receivers, two quarterbacks, and one tight end. Their single defensive pick, cornerback Macellas Dial, came in the sixth round.

The Patriots signed Joey Slye.

The Patriots are not done with the draft. According to Mike Reiss of ESPN, the Patriots have signed veteran kicker Joey Slye. Slye is likely to contend with Chad Ryland for the starting position this autumn.

Ryland struggled with his field goal responsibilities last season. He finished 40th in the league in field goal percentage (64%), converting 16 of his 25 attempts. He went 7-14 from the 40-yard line and beyond.

The New York Giants signed Slye as an undrafted free agent in 2019. He has previously played for the Carolina Panthers, the Houston Texans, the San Francisco 49ers, Washington, and the Jacksonville Jaguars. He has made 121 of 147 field goals (82.3%) that he has been instructed to attempt. He has scored 501 points in his five-year NFL career.

NFL and Patriots supporters’ first reactions to the signing

Here are the best reactions to Slye getting signed by the Patriots. Most fans believe Ryland will be cut before the start of the season.
