The Florida State Seminoles’ spring football season is concluded. That means the program will experience some attrition in the coming weeks during the NCAA Transfer Portal spring window, which lasts 15 days. To reach the 85-man scholarship maximum, the Seminoles must lose at least four players, and more are certain to leave.

According to Matt Zenitz of 247Sports, redshirt freshman wide receiver Vandrevius Jacobs logged into the site on Monday afternoon. Jacobs is coming off his first year in Tallahassee and was competing for a spot amid a talented group of wide outs.

Jacobs led the Seminoles in receiving during the Garnet & Gold Spring Showcase, catching two passes for 61 yards and one touchdown. He closed out the exhibition with a long touchdown grab. With that said, Jacobs was inconsistent throughout the spring and made some mental mistakes.

During the 2023 season, the Florida native played five games, catching three passes for 60 yards and one touchdown. Jacobs scored a touchdown pass in his home opener against Southern Miss. He had a 19-yard reception in the third quarter of the triumph over Pittsburgh on a drive that resulted in a touchdown. Jacobs also had a season-long 28-yard run in the home finale versus North Alabama.

Jacobs first signed with the Seminoles as a four-star talent in #Tribe23. He was one of the emerging stars of spring practice a year ago before suffering from recurring ailments during the season.

After his departure, FSU still has 12 scholarship wide receivers: redshirt senior Kentron Poitier, redshirt senior Ja’Khi Douglas, redshirt senior Darion Williamson, redshirt senior Deuce Spann, senior Malik Benson, sophomore Hykeem Williams, sophomore Destyn Hill, redshirt freshman Jalen Brown, freshman BJ Gibson, freshman Camdon Frier, freshman Lawayne McCoy, and freshman Elijah Moore.
