CLEAR AND SHOCKING NEWS: As dolphins celebrate return of a legend…

Chelsea disintegrated without two of its best players in recent weeks, as Mauricio Pochettino’s team was blasted 5-0 by Arsenal on Tuesday night. The Blues conceded four goals in a row in the second half, suffering their worst defeat of the season.

Working without Cole Palmer and Malo Gusto because to injury and illness, Pochettino made numerous surprising changes, starting Mykhailo Mudryk and replacing both centre-backs from the weekend’s dramatic FA Cup semi-final. Alfie Gilchrist was also given the nod at right-back, a veritable baptism of fire for the 20-year-old.

The changes were to no avail, though, as Arsenal ran riot in north London. More worryingly for Pochettino, things don’t get any easier either now.

Chelsea travel to Aston Villa on Saturday before then hosting Tottenham the week after. Here, football.london has the latest injury news ahead of the upcoming fixtures.

Palmer did not train on Monday, thus he missed the game versus Arsenal. On Saturday, he played 90 minutes against Manchester City before being sidelined by sickness.

Injury: Illness.

Pochettino has stated: “Today [training], no. We need to evaluate him tomorrow morning. But today, I don’t believe he can be part; we’ll review him tomorrow and then make a decision.

“Even if he is good tomorrow, he may not be in a condition to play. I hope he can recover from this predicament quickly and rejoin the squad.”

Possible return date: Saturday, April 27 vs Aston Villa (A).
