Arsenal’s business in the January transfer window has been rather quiet compared to previous year, with Mikel Arteta unable to add a single player to his team.
Talk of Ivan Toney or Victor Osimhen joining the Emirates Stadium fell on deaf ears early in the window, resulting in no movement in north London during the transfer window’s final phases.
Outgoings have been quiet as well. Lino Sousa is close to joining Aston Villa, Bradley Ibrahim has joined Hertha Berlin, and Charles Sagoe Junior is expected to join Swansea City on loan.
However, as Deadline Day approaches, one of Arteta’s first-team players, Jakub Kiwior, could make a surprise exit. According to reports in Italy, AC Milan’s hopes of signing the centre-back’remain alive’ on the last day of the transfer window.
The Italian champions are eager for another centre-back before the window closes, and they have identified Kiwior and Clement Lenglet as potential possibilities.
Calciomercato has stated that they will need a dramatic twist to land one of the players. AC Milan prefers a loan agreement, while Arsenal prefers a purchase obligation.
Kiwior has made 17 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal, eight of which were starts. Oleksandr Zinchenko has been preferred at left back, however Takehiro Tomiyasu is also capable of playing there.
It is quite doubtful that Arsenal will allow him to go thus late in the transfer window; but, a summer move may make more sense for the Poland international.
