Jordan Travis, Florida State football quarterback, looked to suffer a catastrophic lower left leg injury in the first quarter of Saturday’s game against North Alabama at Doak Campbell Sta

Travis was tackled awkwardly on a 17-yard run on the No. 4 Seminoles’ third drive of the game. Travis, who grasped his left leg under his knee, was quickly treated by FSU doctors and trainers. He was down for a few minutes before being transported from the field on a cart.

Both teams came to midfield to console Travis before he was taken to a waiting ambulance, with fans chanting “Jordan Travis.” Travis expressed his gratitude to the fans and later cheered on his teammates from his hospital bed.

With the Seminoles behind the Lions 13-0, backup quarterback Tate Rodemaker replaced Travis and completed 13 of 23 passes for 217 yards and two touchdowns en route to a 58-13 victory. Brock Glenn, a freshman quarterback at Florida State, added three completions for 35 yards and one rushing touchdown, his first in college.

“Congratulations brother,” Travis posted an Instagram Story in which he watched the rest of the game on his phone while resting in a hospital bed. Travis also provided live commentary on Quindarrius Jones’ 50-yard return for a blocked field goal to close the game. “Block that (expletive)… Go score, go score… They blocked the kick.”

Despite the Lions’ early 13-0 lead after two touchdowns, the Seminoles rallied for 58 unanswered points to win. They improve to 11-0 on the season.

“Coming in, we knew this was going to be Jordan Travis’ last game at Doak S. Campbell Stadium, and I wanted to see him have a special game and experience,” Florida State head coach Mike Norvell stated afterward. “When someone is injured, it hurts. It’s hard to witness and to go through. You feel so horrible for that kid because he does everything correctly. He truly is a remarkable young man.”

Norvell did not give an update on Travis’ injury. Florida State will face its in-state foe Florida next week
