Philadelphia — On Monday, the Philadelphia Eagles agreed to a three-year contract deal with wide receiver DeVonta Smith that will take him through the 2028 season.

The Eagles also picked up Smith’s fifth-year option for the 2025 season.

Smith has 240 receptions for 3,178 yards and 19 touchdowns over three seasons with the Eagles. Smith won the 2020 Heisman Trophy and helped Alabama win two national titles during his four seasons with the Crimson Tide.

He’ll receive a projected $75 million contract extension, with $51 million guaranteed under his new agreement. His best season was in 2022, when he helped lead the Eagles to the Super Bowl with 95 receptions and 1,196 yards.
