Pittsburgh — As the Pittsburgh Steelers prepared for their Week 12 game against the Cincinnati Bengals, a strange name appeared on their injury report.
Minkah Fitzpatrick a safety, has been out for several weeks due to a hamstring injury. He hasn’t pr,acticed since his injury four weeks ago. While head coach Mike Tomlin stated that he is “fighting” to return to the field, it looks like he will continue to wait before evaluating the injury.
Defensive tackle Montravius Adams returned to practice in a limited capacity, his first time on the field since suffering an ankle injury three weeks ago. Tomlin also described Adams as “fighting” to get back on the field, and his limited involvement could indicate that he is close to returning.
Wide receiver George Pickens was an unexpected addition to the injury report. Pickens missed practice due to a shin issue after being left off Tomlin’s weekly press conference.
It is unclear how serious the matter is or whether he will be obliged to miss additional time. As of now, it is a monitorable injury.
Steelers rookie linebacker Nick Herbig and cornerback James Pierre were both limited during practice. Herbig is battling with a hamstring problem that will need to be watched all week. Pierre has a shoulder ailment that will require monitoring.
With both limited, it is possible that the injury occurred during practice or that they are dealing with pre-existing concerns.
As is customary, the Steelers awarded guard Isaac Seumalo, defensive tackle Cam Heyward, and cornerback Patrick Peterson a veterans’ day off. Levi Wallace was also given a rest day.
