The Green Bay Packers will face the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL’s first regular-season game in Brazil on September 6.

The game in São Paulo will be the NFL’s first Friday night game on opening weekend since 1970.

In February, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced that the Eagles would host the game. The NFL announced on Wednesday which team would face the Eagles.

The game will be played at Corinthians Arena, home of the Brazilian soccer team Corinthians. The facility hosted the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Rio Olympics.

This will be the Packers’ second international game in the past three years. They played their first regular-season game outside of the United States in 2022, losing 27-22 to the New York Giants at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.

“We’re looking forward to being a part of this historic matchup against the Eagles in Sao Paulo,” Packers president and CEO Mark Murphy said in a statement. “We’re pleased to play in front of our passionate fans in Brazil and contribute to the NFL and Packers’ international appeal. We had a terrific experience playing internationally for the first time a few years ago and are delighted to be a part of the league’s continuous worldwide expansion.”
