LOS ANGELES USC football head coach Lincoln Riley revealed today (Feb. 7) that three football players have registered with the Trojan football programme.
The Trojan team will be joined by linebacker Jadyn Walker from Portage Northern High School in Michigan, cornerback Isaiah Rubin from Los Alamitos High School in California, and defensive lineman Ratumana Bulabalavu from Army and Navy Academy in California.
Williams, Zandamela, Abasiri, Boatwright Jr., Cowan, Fountain, Gallegos, Jackson, Jordan, Newby, Olsen, Stephens II, Ta’aga, Tauanuu, and Williams The following USC students are registered for spring practice: S Akili Arnold, DE Nate Clifton, CB John Humphrey, QB Jayden Maiava, RB Jo’Quavious Marks, LB Easton Mascarenas-Arnold, CB DeCarlos Nicholson, SNP Hank Pepper, DT Isaiah Raikes, S Kamari Ramsey, and WR Jaden Richardson. Bulabalavu, Rubin, and Walker are among the other nine signees who will attend the Trojan programme in the fall.
Four-star prospect Bulabalavu is ranked No. 31 in the state of California by 247Sports, No. 50 by ESPN, No. 74 by Rivals, and No. 91 by On3. He is rated by 247Sports as the 42nd best defensive lineman in the country, ESPN as the 44th best, and On3 as the 124th best. With 60.5 sacks at the end of his high school career, he is thought to be among the top 10 scorers in state history and an all-time best for the San Diego Section. He had 99 tackles in 2023 as a senior, with 20 of those being for loss (including 19 sacks), 20 QB hurries, 2 PBUs, 2 forced fumbles, and 1 interception. Army and Navy Academy’s 2023 CIF San Diego Section Division V-AA was made possible in part by him the main game. In addition to being selected for the 2023 All-Costal League First Team, the 2023 Cal-Hi Sports All-State Small Schools Team, and the 2023 All-CIF San Diego Section First Team, Bulabalavu was voted the 2023 Costal League Defensive Player of the Year. He was named to SBLive’s 2023 Preseason All-San Diego Section Team and the San Diego Prep Football Preseason Watch List at the start of the season. Bulabalavu participated in the 2023 Makasi Bowl for San Diego and received an invitation to the Under Armour Next Camp Series in 2023. He was the recipient of the 2023 Prep Pigskin Iron Hog award and was nominated as a 2023 National Football Foundation Scholar Athlete. He recorded 108 tackles in 2022 as a junior, including 30 for loss (including a state-high 23.5 sacks), 53 quarterback hurries Two punt blocks, a blocked field goal and two PBUs. During the 2022 and 2023 seasons, Bulabalavu recorded the highest number of sacks in the state of California (42.5). Along with being recognised to the 2022 San Diego Football Network All-Prep Team, the 2022 Daygofootball.com North County First Team, the 2022 Prep Pigskin Report All-51 Team, and the 2022 All-CIF San Diego Section Second Team, he was also chosen as the 2022 Sunset League Defensive Player of the Year. He was added to the San Diego Prep Football Preseason Watch List in advance of the season. In 2021, he racked up 75 tackles, including 18 sacks, as a sophomore. Bulabalavu participates in track and field events (shot put, discus, triple jump, 110-meter hurdles) and plays rugby as well.
